Jandan Aliss – Trade Mark Attorney

Jandan (Dani) studied Trade Mark, Design and Copyright law at university as part of her Masters Degree in Management of Intellectual Property. On graduation she knew she wanted to specialise in this area and began her professional career at Bromhead & Co as a trainee. On qualifying in 1997 Dani joined Carpmaels & Ransford, the well-established London based firm of patent and trade mark attorneys where she stayed for eleven years.

Since joining Nucleus IP Dani has been using her broad range of experience including trade mark clearance searching, advising on the inherent registrability of trade marks, advising on global portfolio strategies, filing and prosecution of UK and European Union trade mark applications and oppositions and similarly of International Registrations under the Madrid Protocol, advising on and filing overseas trade mark applications, global assignment work and on infringement issues.

Dani is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and for 13 years was an Examiner for the Institute.

Before joining Nucleus IP, Janice worked in the Intellectual Property Department of British Telecommunications plc assisting the head of patents and head of trade marks.

At Nucleus IP Janice works with Jandan Aliss, Kate Cheney and Jennifer Hitchcock's teams and is involved in all aspects of trade mark formalities.

Before joining Nucleus IP David worked for the BBC in their Publications Department.

At Nucleus IP he has been involved in all aspects of trade mark formalities and has worked with most of Nucleus IP's major clients.

David works with Ese Akpogheneta, Jandan Aliss and Jenny Hitchcock's and teams.

Before joining Nucleus IP Sue worked at The Co-operative Bank Plc for three years.

Sue works with Jennifer Hitchcock, Jandan Aliss and Kate Cheney's teams providing technical assistance.


Joined Nucleus IP in 2001.

Before joining Nucleus IP Deborah worked in the surveying industry.

Deborah is part of Jandan Aliss and Jennifer Hitchcock's teams.

In addition to her secretarial duties to Deborah makes good use of her organisational skills, keeping evidence packs up to date for major clients. This negates the need to revert to clients each time evidence is required for a contentious matter.
